A Note from Artist: Anne M Curtis

Thank you for visitng my web site! I love to work with wood, especially pieces that have unique character. What separates me from the average woodworker is that, in addition to lots of experience working with wood, I have an art background.... drawing, painting, sculpture, pottery, graphic arts and quilting so I tend to spend more time inspecting high quality hardwood for unique character than average.

My goal : To produce functional quality works of art that make great conversation pieces and accent to your kitchen and dining areas (where everybody tends to gather these days) or to serve as gifts for those searching for something that is handmade, durable, practical, and naturally beautiful. Each board would make an excellent wedding, anniversary, Christmas birthday or house warming gift.

Do I make custom made boards? Yes. Mother nature dictates 95% of the character! Thus, if you see a board you like, I will try, but it is generally impossible for me to reproduce it. As I sort thru my stock, I carefully set aside the unique pieces of wood, and when I have collected enough of them, I begin to carefully arrange them in an attempt to find a pleasing design.
